Susan was so right. The laws about repossession are so complicated. I contacted TIC Finance and they went to work right away.
I was told that these folks could help me. As the saying goes, relief washed over me. I learned that the lender has to provide me with a reasonable chance to catch up on payments. The lender was supposed to send me several brochures from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the National Homelessness Advice Service (NHAS).
The lender hadn’t done any of those things.
If I hadn’t gone to Susan’s door in such a state, I wouldn’t have known what’s right or wrong about home repossession in the UK.
Thankfully, I got the help I needed to cure the mortgage default. I saved my home and stopped repossession.
I was so thankful to Susan that I met her over coffee and thanked her endlessly. Since I’m taking my accounts more seriously these days, I couldn’t afford a gift. That’s okay. I love owning a home and Susan loves our tea times together.
